NBR ISO/IEC 17025 (Jan/2001 - Requirements for competence of testing and calibration laboratories). "This Standard was devised as a result of a large experience in the implementation of ABNT ISO/IEC Guideline 25 and of EN 45001, which are now replaced. It contains all the requirements that the test and calibration labs must meet if they wish to demonstrate they have implemented a quality system, they are technically competent and are able to reproduce technically valid results. The calibration and testing laboratories that comply with this Standard will also operate according to NBR ISO 9001 or NBR ISO 9002. The use of this Standard will foster the cooperation within laboratories and other agencies, helping to share information and experience and harmonizing standards and procedures".
